Altis Termite Reticulation System

The Altis Termite Reticulation System is one of the best ways of preventing termites from destroying your most valuable asset. It works by emitting chemicals around the foundation of your house that repel termites.

There are a number of advantages of the reticulation system over other methods of termite control, including the fact that reticulation provides whole of home protection for the life time of the building. Also, once the initial outlay for the system has been made the re-treatment costs are reasonable and the coverage is excellent. Reticulation is far safer for you and your family than having to have the whole house sprayed.

The advantages of using Altis Termite Reticulation System over other reticulation systems are numerous. For starters, the Altis System does not use pipes with holes drilled along them, rather it uses specially designed and regulated delivery points that make sure the exact amount of the chemical is delivered to all the requisite areas. All a termite needs is one untreated patch of soil to launch their siege. That is why it is so important to have the chemical well dispersed. Another advantage is that the Altis pipes will not get crushed as they have been specifically engineered to maintain integrity. This means that your Altis Termite Reticulation System will never fail you.
Finally, the Altis Termite Reticulation System has been designed to compliment building codes and structural needs so that you do not need to compromise your house’s structural integrity.

Myths about Cockroaches

Of all the pests, the cockroach seems to be the one that attracts the most rumour and mythology. Let’s clear the air, let’s dispel the untruths that surround this creature.

The first myth is that cockroaches only live in dirty houses. This is totally untrue; cockroaches will live anywhere they can. They are just more apparent in dirty houses as the food is out in the open.

The second myth is that cockroaches are afraid of the light because they scuttle away when a light is turned on. The truth is they were asleep in the dark and turning the light on just scares them the same way it does to people.

Myth number three is that roaches are dirty creatures. This is not true; they are compulsive about cleaning themselves. In fact, much like a cat, they spend hours a day cleaning them; it is just they go into dirty places all the time.

The fourth myth is that there are albino cockroaches. This is false, the reality is that cockroaches shed their skin and while the new skin dries it is white. Within a few hours, the new skin will be brown.

The final myth is one that has yet to be proven or disproven conclusively: that of cockroaches being able to survive a nuclear holocaust. While some tests have shown they have a higher resistance to radiation than humans, the reality is that if the rest of life on Earth died, so would cockroaches, probably. No one really knows, and no one wants to know.

Diseases That Pests Can Bring Into Your House

Part of our response to a pest is evolutionary, that recoil you feel when you see a fly on your food or a rat in your rubbish is not unjustified disgust, it is actually hardwired into you, and for good reason. Pests convey diseases, and many of the diseases they convey are deadly.

Everyone knows that rodents were responsible for the Black Plague, which killed a third of the European population, but many do not know that they also carry Typhus, Salmonella and a number of other diseases. If you have rodents in your house, get rid of them quick.

Flies are disgusting and they are the vector for a number of horrible diseases including Typhoid, Cholera and other intestinal germs. They can infect you through deposits on your food. For this reason you should always clean up your rubbish and put your food away.

Cockroaches are dirty creatures, purposely covering your food with a scent marker that stinks, they are a disease vector for over 50 human related illnesses, so if you have roaches get rid of them quick.

Mosquitoes are renowned for being carriers of malaria but they also carry dengue fever and yellow fever as well so make sure that you do not have any stagnant water around your house.

One can prevent pest infestation with quick tips below:

1 The first and one of the most important tips is to make sure your house is kept in good repair. You need to make sure that there are no tempting openings for any pests to infiltrate.

2 You need to make sure you don’t leave any tempting food sources around. Clean up your kitchen as soon as possible, don’t leave trash lying around, rake your lawn and try to empty any standing water out.

3 The last tip is critical to containing any infestation, and it is often the most neglected one. Act fast if you suspect infestation. Give Cureall Pest Control a call straight away if you think you may have an infestation.

Making Your Home an Unsuitable Shelter for Pests

For the most part pests just crawl and continue to crawl until they get to a haven that makes them feel comfortable. When these creatures enter your home for the first time they really haven’t grasped a feeling of their new surroundings. Natures little friends tend to feel the differences in flooring, space and the environment as a whole. Food attracts several kinds of vermin, especially if it’s spoiled and rotten, so keep that in mind. It may take days to realize that these pests are around. Here are some tips for making your home an unsuitable shelter for these pesky critters.

Pesticides are always a familiar product that many people use. There’s a different type available for practically any insect that you may come across. Just make sure that this option does not contain high volumes of toxins and chemicals that may hold links or risks to serious health conditions. These toxins can be harmful to you and your family if used incorrectly and children are often more susceptible to feel the effects of these chemicals. If you do not want to deal with these chemicals yourself then call a professional that can apply the pesticide correctly. Keep your home clean. Set aside 1 day a week to clean your home if you don’t already have one and you are one of those “clean it whenever” people. The day you pick is now cleaning day. Wash, scrub, wipe down and pick up anything that you have. A clean house leads to a happy, cleansed and invigorated kind of feeling, not only that but you will be less likely to see those creepy creatures crawling around.

Traps are a great way to keep control of sneaky pests. They can be placed under household objects and in corners around the house. If you use traps feel free to place a small treat into the trap so the prey will be enticed.

Seal all holes and cracks in your home. Sealing these entrances will significantly reduce your chances of seeing these mangy pests. If they don’t have access to your house then how can they get in? It may be nearly impossible to not see at least 1 bug in your house in a lifetime, however, fewer entry points lead to a huge success of seeing lesser pests. Adding screens to your windows help to keep the air friendly insects out of your sanctuary. Screens can also be added to vents, applying them will help keep the furry friends from entering.

Keep your home dry. Pests love wet areas. There is nothing like supplying those unattractive pests with water to quench their thirst and allowing them to leave their bacteria floating around in a pool of water on your kitchen counter. Check for leaks and water damage inside of the home. This is good advice for homebuyers as well.
Make sure to check for these things or have a professional take a look. This will ensure a safer more sanitary new home.

Early Control of Rodent Infestation for Good Health

Pests are unwelcome guests on one's property be it home garden or your fields. You may have taken all the measures to keep your home pest free but they may migrate into your place via your neighbour's property which could be a possible breeding place for them.

Rodents are one of the worst pests, an infestation of rats or mice is not only disturbing to your mental health but can be damaging to your physical health as well. Rodents are known to have caused economic damages of huge magnitude to mankind. There have been cases where a huge population had to sleep empty stomach because the food grains were spoiled by rodents.

The problem is that many rodent species have actually evolved to live in conjunction with humans, meaning they cannot live without us. This is due to the fact that they feed on the kitchen waste and the things left unattended by us in our kitchens or living area. Generally they are nocturnal and tend to live in the most remote and inaccessible parts of our property.

The usual signs that you have a rodent infestation are droppings and the damage to food stuff. Other signs are damage to your home where they have chewed through for access and the oily residue from their coats on areas where they have squeezed through tight gaps.

If you see any of these signs, call Cureall Pest Control, because once you have a rodent infestation it will only get worse. They are renowned for their fast breeding cycle - meaning that a small rodent problem can quickly turn into a big rodent problem.

Not only is it disgusting to wake up in the morning and find rodent droppings all over your kitchen bench, it is also very unhealthy. The list of diseases that rodents carry either directly or indirectly is both scary and huge. Of course, the rat was responsible for the Black Plague that swept across Medieval Europe, and rodents have been the cause of much of humanity's ill-health.

Is it possible to naturally get rid of pest infestations?

Pest control is not that simple. Completely eliminating a pest infestation problem certainly is not simple either. It takes time, money and effort to eradicate or exterminate them. On the other hand, roaches, mosquitoes, termites and the common pests ideally do not get into your homes if you do not give them reason to. Preventive ways of doing this is to keep your environment sanitized and clean.

If there is already a pest infestation in your home, you can still get rid of them in a natural way.

Getting rid of pests is important especially if you have kids in your home so as not to cause harmful effects to the young ones. Here are some natural ways of getting rid of these pest infestations and how they work.

1 Detergent Solution - this is effective to kill all sorts of ants. The soap solution will drown and eventually kill them.

2 Natural Roach Killer – make balls out of these ingredients: baking soda, flour, shortening, chopped onions and sugar. Place them where roaches usually crawl. The combination of both the sugar and onions give out a smell that roaches cannot resist
.
Baking soda, on the other hand, causes gas and since roaches do not belch, their digestive tracts will explode, killing them instantly. Keep this concoction away from pets and children.

3 Water trap – fill a pan, or any shallow dish, partially with water and suspend light in it.

Winged termites, fleas and other insects that are attracted to light will crawl into it and drown.

4 Dark cider and red wine – this is for flies. Place dark cider or red wine in a jar. Cover it with plastic wrap that has holes in it. Holes are big enough for flies to get in. Place it in areas where flies are seen the most. They are attracted to the smell of the cider and red wine so they will enter the jar and drown inside. Bury them or flush them and replace the jar daily.

5 Garlic, mints and pepper – ticks and lice do not come near anything with mint, garlic or pepper. You can plant these things in a pot inside your home. You can also soak a cotton ball with spice lavender, eucalyptus, citronella, camphor, thyme, basil, lemon balm and chilli pepper.

There are so many natural ways to get rid of a pest infestation. This will not happen overnight. It can take weeks and even months to get rid of them. You just have to be diligent and patient in using the natural way to get rid of a pest infestation.

On the other hand, if the pests are out of control already then it is best to contact your local pest control company. Given the fact that the pests are already at large, a pest control company will use harsher ways to exterminate them. It is best to inform the pest control company at first hand that you have kids and pets around. There are also pest exterminators that use environment- friendly insecticide to get rid of those unwanted pests. It is important to protect your home before pests control you and your household.

How to Make Your Home Uninviting To Possums

Possums are cute little creatures. They are not known to be unfriendly or harming in any way. When you see a possum outdoors you may think “it’s so cute” but when you spot one inside of your home the cute notion is thrown right out the window and you’re left thinking “what can I do?”

Here are some possum facts that you may want to know before you head off into a rampage. Possums are nocturnal creatures, they love the night air and they have no problems frolicking around enjoying the scenery. Possums mainly eat green foods such as plants, fruit and meat if they are given that option. Possums are attracted to food, if there is garbage, dumpsters or crops in your area you are likely to see a possum or two. If you live in an open, woodsy or suburban type area these playful creatures are probably hiding in the bushes somewhere.

These cute furry creatures are not really used to humans but are aware that we exist. If you come across a possum and try to feed it they may accept the food with no reservations, just be careful as they possess sharp claws and tend to grab food out of your hand. Remember, when feeding these critters they will come back for more, so if you are feeding them in your backyard don’t be taken aback if you see the little one continue to come back. A possum’s size can be small and mouse like but other types such as the Australian Brush tail can appear to be the size of your cat. These animals love to chew on wires and cords so search around to make sure that they are nowhere near your electrical wiring as fires may be caused.

So now we get to the good stuff. Once you have determined that your area has a population of possums you now want to take any precautions to ensuring that your house is not inviting to these playful carefree animals. Seal off any entry ways, pet doors or large holes that can be a potential entrance for these creatures. If there is access to your home a possum will get in. Check your basement and attic for these entry points as well. A basement is an easy way to let uninvited guests in.

Trim away any trees or branches that are located near your house. Trees are great for the air and the earth; however, they can give possum’s easy access to get into your sidings and your roof. Since possums aren’t very good jumpers clearing away close branches and trees will keep these lovable creatures from gaining access into your home above ground.

Refrain from feeding these adorable animals. Sure they are cute and harmless in most cases but if you lead a horse to water it will drink. This is the same case with possums, by feeding them they are prone to coming back and their curiosity will get the best of them which will lead them inside of your house.

Deadly Spider Capital of the World

Australia is the best country in the world, without a doubt. We've got the best beaches, the best climate and the best people, but there is something we have the most of which isn't so great, deadly spiders. But hey, where's the fun in life without a little risk?

Our web-full of lethal arachnids is legend across the world, most people have heard about the Funnel-web and the Redback, both of which are the consistently listed on world's most deadly animal's lists. We have a whole bunch of other dangerous spiders whose bites won't kill you but will definitely leave you sore as well. If that wasn't enough, there are thousands of other spider species in Australia that aren't dangerous but can be just as scary for someone who is arachnophobia. Anyone who has walked into a web at night will know just how scary a normal spider can be.

Spiders are creepy crawly creatures that many people are terrified of. There are over 30,000 species of spiders in the world. Some are small some are big. Some fly and some bite. With all of the different species running around, it can be nearly impossible to determine which one you have encountered. Almost all spiders have venom so this is not something that can easily be avoided. Some spider's venom is not fatal and you may just see swelling, blisters, white heads and bumps.

If you do not know the type of spider that you have been bitten by it will be crazy to sit around and perform research. The key is to get the venom out of you as soon as possible so that you won't endure any abnormal side effects or fatal injuries.

Never fear though, because Cureall Pest Control is here. If you have spider worries of any kind then we will send one of our highly trained staff out to help you. Most spiders form nests on the outside of structures by spinning webs and we can spray these surfaces with a spray that will inhibit the webs.

Make Sure Your Home is Pest-Free

Whether you live in an urban area or in the suburbs, it is imperative that you keep your home a comfortable and convenient place to live in. You decorate your home either to make it attractive and inviting or just simply to impress your friends and visitors. On the other hand, one way to make your home inviting is to make sure that it is clean. The list below contains some tips to make your home a pest-free place.

1. Never leave leftovers uncovered. Food that is left uncovered on the table is prone to be infested by pests of all sorts. Keep food in a storage container or in the fridge. However, if there is already a sign of mold-formation it is best to throw the food away but make sure to place it in a tightly sealed plastic bag first.

2. Throw your garbage away every night. Bugs and pests go hunting when it is dark. In some parts of the world, they believe that roaches go out when the moon is at its fullest. When you have not thrown your garbage away, pests will feast on it and the next thing you see are roaches crawling all over the place.

3. Keep garbage cans and tins covered. For some reason, pests love garbage. They thrive and dwell on it. You can keep them from feeding in your garbage by covering your garbage cans tightly.

4. Do not store water in uncovered pails and water tins. In some areas in Africa, especially areas that are near the river, people are prone to diseases that are brought by mosquitoes. Mosquitoes thrive in water. Most of these disease-bearing mosquitoes are so harmful that they can cause sudden death.
They populate rapidly in stagnant waters. If you store water make sure that the containers are tightly sealed.

5. Cover holes in your home immediately. If you see and suspect holes in the corners of your home, be sure to cover them immediately to avoid pests as they will use these holes to enter your home. Do not let the holes be used by these pests as pathways into your home to risk you and your family’s precious health.

6. Keep pets away from pests. In households where pets are free to roam, sleep and eat inside, make sure that your pet is lice-free. Clean the food tray after your pet has eaten and made it a point to free their bed from dust and dust mites. Also be sure the home is always kept clean and dry all the time.

7. Pest control system. This is the best way to make your home pest-free.
There are many pest control groups available on the market which offers extensive services for exterminating pests.

Tips on how to make your home a pest-free place are endless. In some parts of the world an effective technique to drive away mosquitoes is to light a fire from dried leaves in the backyard every afternoon. Others use fumigation where equipment is used with an insecticide that is converted to smoke. This technique, however, is discouraged by the World Health Organization as this can cause lung problems to children.

Whatever it is that you have in mind to keep pests from ruining your lives, to quote the immortal theme of Nike, Just do it!

Rodents and the Threat They Pose to Lives

Everyone knows about rats and mice, more commonly known as rodents. These furry creatures carry diseases that are transmittable to humans. Some examples of diseases that can be transferred are leptospirosis, ratbite fever, salmonella poisoning and arena virus. Mice are colorblind and have low vision. These rodents maneuver around with their smelling sense to locate food. Their whiskers help them to move around in the dark.

Mice can contaminate foods with their feces, once they get a hold of it, and they will eat just about anything that humans will partake of. Mice aren’t known to get extremely big in size and they mainly dwell in urban or farming surroundings.
They adapt to their surroundings very well and have a long sustainable life span that makes them hard to eliminate. Mice are fast and can be hard to catch.

Rats are more harmful than mice. Rats live in sewers, dumpsters, gutters and any other filthy unsanitary habitats that you can think of. These rodents also carry well known parasites such as worms and fleas. Rats love to chew on objects such as paper, wood, plastic, and aluminum. These critters also love to chew on wires which can be dangerous and potentially lead to house fires. Rats are mainly found in urban and city areas, it is an environment where they can thrive due to the many cracks, trash and grime that is already lurking around the city streets.

Rats are great swimmers so trying to drown them in water would not be the route to take. They travel underground and can hide themselves from predators that prey on them. Walls are rat friendly so they can be used as routes of escape for a rat in danger. Since rats are agile they can survive falls or throws a little over fifty feet. There are several types of rats such as the Norway rat and the roof rat just to name a few. Trying to figure out what type of rat you have in your home may be challenging and time consuming. If you find that you do not have the time to do this then don’t waste your energy. Knowing that you have a rat in your home is a good enough reason to get rid of it as soon as you can.

Rats may bite. These creatures love to gnaw on objects and there is a possibility that they can take a bite out of you or your children if they feel threatened or provoked. Rats are known to be sneaky and they sense when danger is near.
These furry creatures have low vision but their hearing is impeccable. If you or a family member has been bitten go to your nearest hospital to receive proper treatment. Some procedures that you may have to endure are a rabies test, a vaccine, and you may have to complete follow up visits with your physician to ensure that your body hasn’t been infected with other miscellaneous diseases.

Help Your Pets Get Rid of Fleas

Insects vary in size, shape, habitat and ways to feed for survival. There are insects that thrive
on leftover food, garbage, wood and paper. However, there are also insects that survive off of
sucking blood from humans and pests. These are called fleas. Fleas are parasites - a species that
is dependent for its food from another living species. Unfortunately, they can also invade our
homes.

Fleas are small and dark with tube-like mouthparts for sucking blood from their hosts. They do
not have wings but most of them can jump vertically up to 18cm. Their common victims are
pets because of their fur and thick hair. If untreated, fleas can cause discomfort and sometimes
death to kittens and puppies. They can also cause tapeworms that can be transmitted from one
pet to the other. Fleas can be uncontrollable when they populate and they will invade your
carpet, yard, closet and they can feed on you as well. Here are some helpful tips on how to help
your pets be free of fleas.

Flea rinse products. Traditional treatment includes the use of flea shampoo, flea soap, flea
collars and flea dips. The latest flea rinse products are called top-spots. These are chemicals that
are applied between the shoulder blades and will spread throughout the skin’s oil. They are more
effective if they are applied at night.

Special flea comb. Combing your pet’s hair regularly is very helpful. There is a comb made
especially for this purpose.

Have a regular visit at your vet. Like humans are supposed to visit doctors, pets are advised to
visit their veterinarians too. This is especially recommended if there is an evident flea infestation
in your pet. There are pets that are allergic to the flea’s saliva and this can cause allergic
dermatitis. Your pet’s veterinarian can also recommend the best flea rinse solution for your pet.

Clean your house the same day you wash your pet. According to research, 95% of fleas infest
your carpet and other household items and the remaining 5% infest your pet. How do you deal
with this? First, wash your pets with a flea rinse and let your pet stay outside in the yard. With
a vacuum cleaner be sure to vacuum every part of your home including furniture, corners, and
every piece of carpet. Remember to tightly seal your vacuum bag after the process. Fleas are
not killed in the process, if you do not seal it tightly fleas will find their way out.

Spray insecticide. Spray all carpets, curtains, floors, dog beds and even your yard with
insecticides specifically made to get rid of fleas. These insecticides are designed to make sure
that even the eggs and larvae are destroyed.

It is likely that the fleas will return again within two weeks. This will normally happen
especially if your pets love to visit other pets from the neighborhood or vice versa. If this
happens, simply repeat the process again and again until you do not see any sign of fleas
pestering your pets.

The Pest Problem in Australia

Great pride is exuded by the Australian Government because it is a natural wildlife and unique ecosystem has been preserved for over hundreds of years. If you take a look at Australia even from a distance, you see a continent that is lush and green and the seas are sparkling blue.

Foreign invasion

However, in the last few years there have been alarming cases of foreign pest invasion. These foreign pests find wildlife in Australia as a good place to reproduce and multiply. These foreign pests also are endangering the environmental balance of the country. Up until now, there is still no exact information where these pests came from.

There are organizations that have done research and studies on how these pests interact with their environment and how to control them.

Feral animals

Australia certainly has unique and diversified wildlife. In most cases, it is not the presence of termites, ants, roaches and bugs that concerns them the most. Over the years, it has been the feral animals that have brought so much trouble to endanger the natural environment. Feral animals are predators and have become a problem since they started to grow in numbers. They endanger the natural wildlife by their competitive behaviour to survive, competing for food and shelter, destroying habitat and spreading disease. Feral animals can also contribute to the cause of soil erosion.

Weather conditions in Australia

Like most of the countries in the Southern hemisphere, Australia has 4 different climates: Summer, autumn, winter and spring. There may be differences in the months that these climates occur but basically, it is the same as the other countries. However, weather conditions in Australia can go to the extremes. With this in mind, temperature can go as high as 50 degrees Celsius and can go down as low as sub-zero.

Both temperature extremes trigger pests and insects to either populate or hibernate. If it is too cold outside, termites find their way into homes and build a colony there. Excessive heat and rain causes the pests and insects to transfer to an environment where they can survive. Human habitation seems to be the most comfortable place these pests like to thrive.

Winning the battle

Fortunately for residents of Australia, there are already organizations dedicated to winning the battle against the pest problem in the country. These organizations have done extensive and lucrative studies about different species of pests and insects. In order to kill these unwanted pests they try to understand the behaviour, habitation, characteristics and traits of the pests. Some pests are easy to kill. However, with the foreign pests, these organizations are still in the process of studying the species.

Throughout the ages, Australia has been infested with pests of all sorts. Records have shown different species invading the country both from foreign pests and feral animals. Moreover, there are a number of pest control companies that have joined forces to control these pests. There has been usage of conventional control like shooting, trapping, and eradicating completely them. There has been biological control as well and both have been helpful in controlling the pest problem in the country.

On the other hand, if the pests are out of control already then it is best to contact your local pest
control company. Given the fact that the pests are already at large, a pest control company will
use harsher ways to exterminate them. It is best to inform the pest control company at first hand
that you have kids and pets around. There are also pest exterminators that use environment-

How Termites Can Damage Your Home

Termites are wood-eating, white, ant-like insects. They are social insects and are sometimes referred to as “white ants”. They build large nests in trees, soil mounds or undergrounds. Termites undergo three main stages throughout their life cycle: egg, nymph and adult.

Nest

The majority of termites need a very damp environment to survive, especially the so-called “workers”, whose bodies are covered by a quite thin skin which needs dampness not to dry out. That is why you usually see them in ground mounds, in tree nests, on some human structures like poles; all around tree bases and even inside trees themselves. Thus, the theory according to which leaks and water sources may lead to the formation of termite colonies is true.

Feeding and Diet

Termites not only feed on wood and that is why, every year, these white ants cause damages worth millions of dollars. In fact, they feed also on paper, books, filtration systems, swimming pool liners, insulation systems and water pipes. Termites can easily damage a whole house in a matter of weeks, if they are not exterminated. That is why when buying a house, it is imperative that a termite check is done. You do not want to be investing in a house that will just be ruined and eaten up by termites.

Termites and houses

There are several species of termites. The house termites often called “swarmers” are those that have wings. They are attracted by lights and usually found near windows and doors. When termites build their nests they often use earthen-mud. So, if you see earthen mud forming in your foundation walls, sill plates, window frames, patios and porches, just think that there is a big chance that your house is being infested by termites.

Earthen mud usually has a diameter of a pencil stain on your walls. It is used by termites as a tunnel and serves as a shield for their travel. This is usually broken by termite controllers to check if there is indeed a termite infestation.

Now since termites mostly feed on wood and live in damp places, whether or not your house is made of wood, they can still damage it. They could infect your home even without leaving the signs of their nests. In fact, you may be surprised at the sight of your damaged books, which may have already been attacked by these social insects. Termite-damaged wood is hollowed and your house foundation infested by termites may be at risk of falling down.

They can damage your homes undetected for years and create small holes into your walls and even furniture. Their fecal pellets cause odor that do not go away after being cleansed. They leave discoloration and blisters in hardwood floors and your paints. Before you know it, the infestation is widespread and you may need to replace your floors and walls completely.

The good news is that there are pest control teams now that are specialized in termite extermination. They are able to tell whether your house is infested by termites and know how to treat infested areas.

When Pest Infections Reach Urban Areas

Keeping the environment you live in clean and healthy is important, for it makes your home inviting and most importantly, it prevents sickness and illness from taking the lives of the people you love. Unfortunately, some people do not care about cleanliness and do not understand that dirt and pests can cause innumerable disease: they leave uncovered food on the table, garbage cans and water bins open and left out. Sadly enough, these people do not care about the consequences of their wrongdoings.

On a lighter note, urbanites are aware of the manifestations of not cleaning the environment. In their area, they are more scared about mosquitoes and flies rather than rats and other rodents underneath. But, what if pest infections reach urban areas? What will be the manifestations of this?

Uncontrollable number of infectious pests

Remember that old movie Ben in the late 1970’s? It tells about friendship that knows no bounds. On the flip side, the movie gives us an insight of what may happen if we let pests spread: they dominate the place and turn it from safe to extremely dangerous. According to research, pests populate rapidly and in an increasing number compared to humans. A roach egg alone contains thousands of roaches inside it once it is hatched. In urban areas where the places are narrower, without a pest control system, these pests can populate uncontrollably.

Spread-wide disease and food contamination

Pests include mice, roaches, ants, fleas, flies and other rodents. Because urban areas are far more populated places than rural ones, most likely, pests have more hiding areas and places. In this case, they would spread easily especially if a certain apartment or building has no pest control system. Food contamination is inevitable if this happens. And do not forget that ones pests have taken control of a certain area, there is no going back.

Rapid spread out of contagious diseases

Urbanites are busy persons. Slight fever does not worry them until it gets serious and causes sudden death. Urban areas are more crowded too. People come in contact with each other constantly and in nearer distances. Most placed are crowded and kept cool thanks to centralized air conditioning systems (just look at malls, department stores, bus terminals and airports). Unfortunately, contamination happens faster in crowded areas, so that a single sneeze or a simple cough can threaten thousands of lives.

If only people were more conscious of their environment and maintained cleanliness all the time, the sudden outbreak of a plague would be prevented. Diseases and serious illnesses that can lead to sudden death would be hampered and, pest infections would be controlled and stopped. Nowadays, there are many different pest control systems on the market. They are supplied by dedicated pest control groups, who also offer you full assistance, should you notice a horde of rodents or insects making a nest in your garage, in your home or even outside your yard. Most importantly, make sure that you are always a step ahead. Prevent pests from infecting your life. Control them before they can have the chance to control you.

Healthy and Clean Environment is Too Important For All

Everyone wants to stay healthy and no one wishes to get sick at all times: that is why you too do everything to make sure that the environment you live in is clean, by sanitizing and sterilizing the things that you use on a daily basis and defending your home from pests. However, many people out there choose to spend a fortune in buying different solutions to ensure that they achieve such results.

Illness-free

Living in a home that is clean means that you and your family members are very likely to be free from unwanted illnesses, because, believe it or not, dirt is what attracts pests, which are responsible for causing many diseases. In fact, if your environment is unkempt, different bugs and mosquitoes may thrive in it. Mosquitoes are great bearers of sickness: just think that some of them are so dangerous that they have taken millions of lives worldwide.

However, if you are going to thoroughly clean your environment – even the hidden parts and corners of the house, you are assured that those unwanted bugs will not harm or put your family’s health at risk.

Relieves you from emotional stress

Let’s face it, you feel worried even when a casual friend of yours is sick. They may pass their illness to you, or to one of your family members. But how much burden to your emotions it would be if the person involved is one of your children, a relative or a close friend? It will surely stress you out emotionally. Now remember that emotions play a big role in the entire human system. Emotional stress leads to anxiety, then to depression. Later on, you may lose your appetite, sleeplessness, restlessness and the list goes on. Having an ill member of the family creates a domino effect. On the other hand, you can definitely prevent this from happening. You just have to keep your environment clean.

Saves you from financial burden

With the unpredictable status of the economy these days, the last thing you want to be doing is to spend a hundred bucks in medicines and hospitalization. In fact, not everybody has the privilege of being covered by medical insurance. But also in that case medicines would cost so much you’d have to pay for them yourself. Well just think that you can save more and spend your money in other things if you just keep your surroundings cleansed and sanitized.

Time is gold

Money can be replaced and health can be restored in most cases. But what with time? You are familiar with the phrase, “Time lost is time wasted”. It is so true. When you get sick, you spend time resting because you have no energy to do your work. The hardest part is that time can never be replaced and restored anymore. Make full use of your time in things productive. Clean your environment and maintain it that way.

Another wise quote is, “Prevention is better than cure”. By keeping your environment clean and healthy at all times you have just saved your own life and that of the people around you.

What is Pest Control?

Pest Control refers to the development of certain measures to get rid of pests, normally because these species are detrimental to our health, the environment we live in and even our economy.

Pest Control is as old as agriculture per se. Humans have tried to survive and control those potentially harmful pests that usually destroy their seasonal crops. In fact, for humans to maximize food production and feed their families it is advantageous to take control of such phenomenon and place pests back to where they belong.

Conventional approach

For farmers, the traditional way is to remove weeds, burn them or just plow them underneath so that their decaying bodies can be used as soil fertilizers.

Other traditional means are crop rotation, mixed cropping and selective breeding.

Home owners, on the other hand, are the ones who find it most difficult to get rid of pests and that is why there are many tools available on the market, including pesticides and other products. Some of the most common options that humans use to protect their homes are setting up traps with poisoned baits especially for rodents, putting a cover to water bins and garbage cans to eliminate breeding grounds of mosquitoes, and in some areas, burning dried leaves and letting the smoke get into the house, believing that it will dry every mosquito and bug away. Well, that’s not always true.

Chemical pesticides

The use of chemical agents to exterminate pests and bugs can be dated back 4,500 years. Sulfur compounds have been used by Sumerians before.
With industrialization and modernization combined, researchers have discovered chemicals that can kill and poison pests immediately. However, the problem was that such chemical pesticides were limitedly used because they were known to be quite harmful to humans. Fortunately these days, manufacturers has innovated several environment-friendly chemical pesticides.

Electronic pest control

If you want to get rid of those roaches, mosquitoes and pests without the hassle of spraying and placing traps, the so-called “electronic pest control” is for you. You can just install it in areas where rodents, insects and bugs are more likely to establish their nests. This method uses electro-magnetic and ultrasonic rays to deter mice, roaches and some insects. There are also electronic mouse and rat killers.

Automatic insect and bug spray

These sprays are installed in pest infected areas. They are programmed to emit insecticides in very small amounts during night time when bugs are out hunting for food. Of course it is highly convenient and advantageous to know that even at nights you are safeguarded from being harmed by pests.

Pest control is remarkably important in keeping you and your family’s well-being. It gives you comfort and makes your house look clean and safe; thus, in a sense, allows friends and visitors to give you a surprise visit.

Pest control gives you the opportunity to live in a clean environment and to be assured of not catching an illness that may even lead to sudden death.

With the options currently available on the market you can exterminate those unwanted pests for good, and live in a pest-free society.
