The Queensland flood has turned everything upside down. After such a cataclysmic event, it takes a long time for life to return back to normality, and not just for humans, for animals as well. Events such as this are transformative, and we need to be aware of how they have changed the world around us, so that we are prepared for these changes and ready to combat them if necessary.
Unfortunately, the flooding has driven wasps from their nests, making the normal nuisance worse than ever. Because they have lost their homes too, they are more aggressive and agitated than normal, making them extra dangerous.
It seems so unfair that the floods have increased the prevalence of wasps on the wing, but this is just the sad reality of a post-flood environment. Sadly, not long after the flooding four people were stung so badly they needed to be hospitalised.
If you are worried about wasps, then you should get on the phone to your local pest control company. They will come around in a jiffy to help you out. To stay safe after the flood, you need to do everything you can to prevent the pests that it has stirred up, so take the initiative.

Why Cannot I Spray Termites with Insecticides
The three best methods of termite prevention and eradication are the termite barrier, for prevention, a reticulation system, for eradication, and the bait station, for eradication. The termite barrier is a moisture barrier that is placed on top of the foundation slab during the building of a house. It deters the termite from travelling up into the superstructure of the building because it has been coated with an insecticide which, while safe for people and the environment, repulses termites.
The reticulation is another system that is generally installed during construction, though unlike the barrier, it can be retrofitted later. It is a series of pipes that allow the pest controller to deliver insecticides directly into problem areas in the home, hitting the termites where it hurts. These systems are incredibly effective.
The last method is the bait station. These stations are buried strategically around your property and when a termite encounters them, they eat the bait, which has a delayed effect, and then they go back to the colony where they spread the poison, meaning that the entire colony is wiped out.
